- retrospective exhibition of small-scale sculptures
14.11. - 8.12.2002

Small-scale sculptures of Vasilij Ćetković Vasko are unique works-of-art which have resulted directly from sculptor's enthusiasm and dedication to a chosen cycle whereby the artist as used the last atoms of his artistic power. Although one may be misled by common stylistic features it has to be point out that Ćetković has remained consistent regarding shapegiving and modelling of clay or cast, cutting or carving wood, composing structures from various materials, casting liquid aluminum and creating a sculpture or an object or some structural corporeity in his own different way.
Despite common morphological and typological external shapes his sculpting is characterized by personally experienced shapes which can be drafted and realised in a variety of ways in that these ways originate from his personal view of ideal forms of mostly spherical and oval shapes, reflecting a circle of never-ending motion and flow of creative energy and it is this circle that has defined and characterized his creative artistic career.

- retrospective exhibition of Franc Bencak objects and paintings
10.10. - 6.11.2002

Artistic creativity of Franc Bencak, the oldest member of the Society of Fine Arts of Prekmurje and Prlekija, reflects his great love of and faith in creative power of fine art, in that, within this art, he has never been content with simple “dominical” copying of nature but has persistently looked for ways to disclose his creative nature and to apply his expertise which he has accumulated during the long years, working at his trade of a specialist cabinet maker.
Ten years after his personal exhibition at the Gallery of Murska Sobota, once again one can see his drawings and paintings and, most importantly, his objects which attest to his steadfast and obstinate efforts to shape ideal, inwardly conceived and perceived rotating objects which are so close to his heart.

- retrospective exhibition of Bogdan Čobal works
12.9. - 3.10.2002

The tirelessly enquiring personality of the academic painter Bogdan Čobal represents the synthesis of a creator and an art theoretician, in which he has engaged as an art teacher for most of his professional life. Throughout his entire artistic opus, painting and graphic art have interlaced equally and in correlation highlighted by intensive artistic and theoretical research, the results polemized within new artistic cycles. Simultaneously, the whole Čobal opus shows an absorbing analysis of issues arising from the interaction of space, light and colours. In particular, he is engaged in the bordering of the plane and the colour respectively, which is also an issue for the ultramodern Slovenian abstract artists.
