12th International Biennial of Small Sculpture

30. 6. 1995 – 18. 9. 1995

The Biennial od Small Sculpture of Murska Sobota is trying to feel the pulse and to confront the artistic language of participants from Central Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia), Southern and Eastern Europe (Macedonia, Romania, Lithuania) and Western Europe (France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany) in a cerefully defined dialogue between an artist and a nart critic; discussed are, first of all, the cultural, not the political connotations of the artists of post-socialist countries as opposed to the their peers from western countries. The artistic contex is the same, the answers and solutions, however, originate from either the enter or the margins of the post-modernistic »hustle and bustle«, whereby they are not only in accordance with it but are also exponents of individual auto-poetics which in themselves could in the mid-90s establish a new artistic paradigm.
